HSE St. Josephs District Hospital
Introduction
St. Josephs District Hospital is a level III Acute Hospital and is part of the South South West Hospital Group. It is governed by the Executive Management Team. It provides Shared Care programs for Paediatric, Oncology and Maternity services outside the region. Mental health services are linked with St Luke's General Hospital Kilkenny and University Hospital Limerick. We aim to provide the highest quality healthcare and service to all our patients.
About the Project
A 40.1 kWp solar PV system was installed at HSE St. Joseph’s District Hospital, generating approx. 30,742 kWh of clean energy annually. Completed in just one week, the project overcame challenges of a live hospital environment and a 250m underground cable run. This low-maintenance system delivers long-term energy savings and showcases solar’s role in supporting Ireland’s healthcare facilities.
