Introduction
Dawn Pork & Bacon produce high quality pork, locally sourced from carefully selected and sustainable stocks. Our state of the art facility is fully customised to process and deliver goods that satisfy a broad range of customer specifications. We prepare the pork, from slaughter and deboning through to butchering and delivery, for both national and international markets. Our meat products ship to retail, foodservice and manufacturing customers across the world.
About the Project
Dawn Pork & Bacon with the help of Activ8 Solar Energies and SSE Airtricity, put together a solar plan for their premises on the banks of the River Suir. Adding solar PV to their existing electrical infrastructure will assist them in powering their meat processing facility with renewable electricity. The project was completed in 3 weeks and with forward planning in place, we guaranteed that there would be zero outages on-site and therefore, no downtime to operations.

Project Management
"Having installed 260kWp (723 panels) in 2021, the early production from the system gave Dawn Pork & Bacon the confidence to install a further 719kWp (1,842 panels) in 2022 and another 161kWp (394 panels) in 2023 for an overall 1.1MWp system."
