Step into a future-focused career with the Renewable Construction Technologies Traineeship — a joint initiative by Cavan and Monaghan ETB, delivered in partnership with Activ8 Solar Energies, Ireland's leading provider of solar and renewable energy solutions.
This programme equips you with the skills, knowledge, and hands-on experience needed to succeed in the fast-growing renewable sector. This is more than training — this is a pathway to employment.
Participants who successfully complete the traineeship will be afforded the opportunity to progress into roles within Activ8 Solar Energies, opening the door to a long-term career in a high-demand industry.
Full-time · 38 Weeks · Starting September
Delivery takes place between Activ8 Solar Energies HQ in Carrickmacross and Monaghan Institute, combining classroom learning with hands-on, work-based training.
Who should apply?
This traineeship is ideal for school leavers or career changers interested in hands-on, practical work. It suits those looking to build skills in construction and renewable energy, offering recognised qualifications, practical experience, and a clear pathway to employment.

- Weekly bursary from Activ8 (where no training allowance applies)
Eligibility
- Be 16 years of age or older
- Leaving Cert/ Leaving Cert Applied or QQI Level 4
- GCSEs (A–C), NVQ Level 2, BTEC or equivalent qualifications
- Mature students (23+) may use relevant work experience in lieu of qualifications
- Those in employment seeking to upskill or reskill are welcome to apply
